How We Work

Services

Our services begin with a preliminary analysis of rat activity on the site using a team of two dogs. Our dogs can sense areas of rat activity, such as nests, that are not always visible to the human eye. The data that the dogs’ senses provide is combined with our expert human knowledge about rat behavior. After our visit, we will present a written report documenting factors on the site contributing to rat activity. This will include a plan for changes that can be made to the built or natural environment to minimize rat incursions.

In many cases, clients are unable to make the necessary changes because of the uses on site, or because of immutable factors on adjacent sites. In these cases, we offer a subscription hunt service. These weekly or bi-weekly hunts vary depending on the level of rat activity on-site when we begin to visit regularly. These hunts include the use of two dogs and a hand-held smoke machine. The smoke machine burns vegetable oil and emits smoke into the rat burrows. It is no more toxic than burning a pan in the kitchen. After a couple of weeks, these hunts restore balance between the rats on-site and other dominant species.

The Process

01.

Inspect

We’ll provide actionable information regarding rodent activity inside or outside your building or residence.
This process typically locates nests and points of entry to identify structural flaws that can be fixed.
"

02.

Flush

If a property has an active rat infestation, nests are flushed either directly by the dog or by injecting smoke into rat-holes with the same non-toxic smoke that beekeepers use.
"

03.

Hunt

All rats recovered from sites are individually bagged, frozen for transport, and then incinerated at a commercial incinerator.
Our dogs hunt and kill rats, but do not eat any part of the dead animal. This means no matter how much poison the rat has consumed, it does not threaten the dog’s health.

04.

Monitor

Our team will work with you to formulate a customized plan to fix the problem and prevent more problems in the future.
